We have recently been successful in gaining more funding to support our customers, adding to our list of initiatives offering Cost of Living support directly to them. This time, we have been granted £120,000 by SFHA (Scottish Federation of Housing Associations) to support the delivery of energy efficient measures including small appliances and essential warmth items for Social Housing tenants. This includes the distribution of heated blankets, duvets, slow cookers and air fryers. The products we will provide to our tenants will contribute to mitigating the negative impacts of the combined Energy Crisis and Cost of Living Crisis. The provision of Air Fryers and slow cookers provide energy efficiency savings. These products also promote healthier eating, while slow cookers reduce the need for use of cooking oils/pans. High Tog Winter Duvets will have the most benefit for households that are forced to keep the heating off/very low overnight to save money. Heated throws will also be a cost-effective alternative to keeping warm where central heating is kept off/low. The Social Housing Fuel Support Fund is funded by the Scottish Government and managed and administered by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations. It aims to provide practical support to social landlords’ tenants to mitigate fuel poverty, and to help them to manage, or reduce, their fuel costs.  Gillian McCusker, Head of Customer Experience (Landlord), commented: ‘We recognise these continue to be difficult times for our customers, so we were delighted to recently receive funding from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations to support the delivery of energy efficient measures including small appliances and essential warmth items. This funding will allow us to provide vital support to our customers over the coming winter months.’

We were delighted to host Paul McLennan MSP, Minister for Housing, on Wednesday 29th November at our recently remodelled and extended Housing with Care development at Lochar Crescent, in Pollok, Glasgow.

Following a competitive tender process, Rodgers & Johnston Ltd were successful in winning the contract to deliver this service on our behalf. Rodgers & Johnston have worked successfully with Trust for several years and we are delighted they will be continuing to deliver a top-level service to our customers for repairs and maintenance, we have also extended the contract of Saltire Facilities Management Ltd who will continue to deliver our gas heating services. Following this change, we will be switching our ‘Out of Hours’ call handling to, Hanover Scotland who currently provide out of hours call services to other Trust properties. This change only applies to all Out of Hours Emergency repairs & heating issues; removing the requirement to directly contact Saltire.

Planning permission and Board approval have now been secured for Trust’s latest affordable housing development at Reema Road, Bellshill.

Trust has secured a £10m loan from Royal Bank of Scotland to provide affordable, energy efficient homes for customers across the country, from Stornoway to Stranraer.
