Trust appoints new Chair to drive next phase of growth

Following the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), Trust has appointed David Knight as the new Chair, succeeding Dr Norval Bryson who has stepped down after four years in the role.

David brings more than 35 years of senior leadership experience in the Scottish housebuilding sector, including Managing Director positions at Bryant Homes, Miller Homes and Avant Homes, as well as a former Chairmanship at Homes for Scotland.

Having served as Trust' Vice-Chair and Convenor of the Audit and Performance Committee since 2021, this appointment ensures strong continuity Trust prepares to launch ambitious new five-year strategy, ‘Ready, together.’

Dr Bryson stepped down from the role after five years on the Board. During his tenure, he has provided strong leadership during a turbulent period for the sector, as well as significant change and success for Trust.
During his time as Chair, Trust successfully delivered the ‘Time is Now’ strategy (2021-26), strengthened the financial position and resilience and invested in new and existing homes, services and technology capabilities. Dr Bryson was also instrumental in the development of Trust’s new strategy, helping to ensure that Trust remains well positioned for the future.

Reflecting on his time as Chair, Norval said: "Serving as Chair of Trust has been both an honour and a pleasure. During my time as Chair, I have had the opportunity to work with an exceptional Board, talented colleagues and dedicated partners who are all committed to improving people's lives.

"I am proud of what we have achieved together. I leave knowing Trust is in capable hands and I wish David, Jackie and the entire organisation every success for the years ahead."
