Trust Housing Association provides a Day Centre within it’s Pollok Development to provide its service users with the opportunity to participate in social and recreational activities whilst enjoying the companionship of their peers.
The Day Centre accommodation comprises a lounge, adjacent dining area, specially adapted toilets, a small lounge/quiet room and a hairdressing salon, all set within a homely environment. Breakfast and a two-course lunch are available for a small charge (information on prices can be obtained from the Day Centre staff).
Regular entertainment is held in the lounge area including singers, school choirs and an in-house cinema. Various optional activities are also on offer such as quizzes, games, putting, darts and floor basketball …and let’s not forget BINGO! We celebrate holidays such as St Andrews Day, St Patrick’s Day, the Fourth of July and various other days. Additionally, both ladies and gentlemen can be pampered by having their hair or nails done.
The Day Centre supports many local community based activities. Our service users can attend a Reminiscence Club at the Village twice a month, which brings back a lot of memories. The Village Club is organised from St James’ Parish Church in Pollok and run by volunteers. Trust Housing provides transport to and from the village.
The Day Centre is open Monday through Thursday from 8.30 AM until 3.00 PM (these hours can be extended until 4:00 PM if service users have their own transport).
A maximum of 15 places per day is available at the Day Centre and both tenants and members of the local community can participate. Referrals for places should be submitted via social work departments and you must live within a 5-mile radius of the Day Centre.
