Isle of Arran Homes

Isle of Arran Homes logoIsle of Arran Homes was formed in 2000 as an initiative of Trust Housing Association Limited.  It is an integral part of Trust and not a separate legal identity.  The housing stock comprises of the transferred stock from North Ayrshire Council and the former Kirk Care Housing Association stock totalling approximately 270 properties.

It is backed by the Scottish Executive, who have part funded the initiative and awarded £2.00 million as part of a new Housing Partnership.  The new organisation on the Isle of Arran is responsible for the comprehensive management of around 270 properties throughout the island and is the largest single investment in housing that Arran has seen for over a generation.

Since coming into operation the Association has invested over £1.20 million of its own monies on major repairs and improvements to the transferred stock, comprising installation of new kitchens, bathrooms, provision of double glazed windows and new front and rear entrance doors; cladding to dormers and external security lighting.

Trust is a national housing association and has stock located throughout Scotland.  The majority of Trust’s accommodation is rented; it is mainly provided for older people, although on Arran the greatest number of houses is general needs, together with a smaller number of amenity; sheltered and shared ownership properties.

Isle of Arran Homes is managed by a local Committee represented by individuals drawn from tenants, the business community, North Ayrshire Council and Trust Housing Association.  We work closely with North Ayrshire Council in pursuit of the Council’s strategic housing functions; and are committed to assisting the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties with regard to homelessness.
