Very Sheltered housing
Trust's Very Sheltered housing consists of self-contained flats or houses for households that need more regular support than Sheltered housing can provide, where at least 1 person is aged over 60 years. Very Sheltered tenants and the Association sign a Scottish Secure Tenancy agreement.
We prepare a nutritious main meal each day from fresh ingredients for Very Sheltered tenants, served in the communal dining room. We also provide an hour's cleaning each week in Very Sheltered flats. This consists of several visits each week, to keep surfaces in kitchen and bathroom hygienic.
The Very Sheltered staff team consists of a Co-ordinator, working office hours Monday to Friday, usually four part-time Supported Housing Workers working to a rota and two Domestic Workers. The building is staffed all day, every day. At all times of the day and night, there is an alarm system with a pull cord in each room. From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., these calls are answered by our staff. Between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m., an alarm call is sent to a specialist call centre, which will contact the Trust worker on sleepover or organise any other necessary assistance.
Common areas of a Very Sheltered development include a dining room, lounge, where tenants and staff arrange social events, an assisted bathroom and a laundry.
