Amenity housing

Trust's Amenity housing consists of self-contained flats or houses for households where at least 1 person is aged over 60 years.     Where there are common areas, we employ a cleaner.   Amenity tenants and the Association sign a Scottish Secure Tenancy agreement.

There is an alarm system linked to a call centre, with a pull cord in each room, so that help may be summoned at all times in an emergency.   Tenants can also have a neck pendant linked to the alarm system, so that they can summon help if unable to reach a cord.

Some Amenity developments have heating and hot water provided by Trust and paid for by a service charge.   In other developments, tenants pay their own heating and hot water bills to their power supplier.

No staff are based on site, but many Amenity developments have a Local Representative who visits each tenant weekly to discuss any matters to do with the house and tests the alarm system regularly.   A Service Manager, Housing & Support also visits several times each year.
