25th Anniversary Celebration at Port Ellen15th June 2010
Wes Palmer, Board member, George Veryan, Director of Customer Services and Elaine Cannon, Housing Operations Manager joined tenants and local staff at Port Ellen on 8 June to celebrate the developments 25th Anniversary.
Port Ellen is one of two Trust Sheltered Housing Developments on Islay the other is in Bowmore. The Association also has a small amenity housing development in Bruichladdich.
Wes Palmer presented a locally produced slate engraved with the Kildalton Cross to the development. Wes is pictured with Mr James Smith, Mr Archie McFarlane. Mr Smith has been the longest tenant at Port Ellen after moving there in 1990.
A great time was had by all who attended the celebration. A special thanks to the tenants of Port Ellen and the people of Islay who as always, provided a warm and friendly welcome to the visiting Trust staff. Last but not least thanks to Sandra MacArthur, Ishbel Aitken and Sandra Morrison our local staff who provided a delicious buffet.
