Tenants’ Conference20th July 2007
We are pleased to announce that a Tenants’ Conference will take place on Thursday 16 August 2007, at the Hilton Strathclyde Hotel. This is the first ever Tenants’ Conference which the Association has held and it is hoped that it will be an enjoyable experience, as well as giving tenants the opportunity to gain useful information, meet other tenants, staff from Head Office and Committee members.
Invitations have already been sent to 50 tenants from both the sheltered/supported sector and the general needs sector.
During the course of the day there will be workshops on the following subjects:
Vulnerable Adults
A discussion on matters concerning the vulnerability of adults in the community, and how to help combat this.
Royal National Institute for the Deaf
A discussion on possible equipment to assist people with hearing difficulties.
Pension Services
A discussion on how individuals can maximise their income with the help of the Benefits Services.
In addition to this we have organised a presentation on Grant Applications presented by Helen Houston from the north of Scotland where she works with community groups helping them to make applications for grant funding projects. At the end of the day there will be a session on Laughter Therapy presented by Joe Hoare www.joehoare.co.uk.
