Responsible to: Supported Housing Co-ordinator
Job Summary: The Cook is appointed as a member of the development’s staff team. He/she is responsible for the planning and preparation of daily meals.
- Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To prepare meals for between ten and thirty tenants on a daily basis.
- To be aware of the policies of Trust Housing Association to the extent that these policies affect the development.
- To ensure the pursuance of the aims and objectives of the development.
- To work under supervision of the Supported Housing Co-ordinator and to liaise with other staff members.
- To be responsible for the food budget and menu preparation in consultation with the Supported Housing Co-ordinator.
- To order provisions, maintain sufficient stocks of food and records as required, manage the food stores, adhere to the development’s Food Safety Risk Analysis (HACCP) and Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
- To undertake the organising and preparation of daily balanced, nutritious main meals, taking into consideration any special dietary needs.
- To ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a safe and hygienic manner at all times.
- To treat tenants at all times with respect and courtesy, promoting independence, personal choice and self determination.
- To respect individual tenant’s rights.
- To prepare for and participate in supervision programme.
- To participate in team meetings, day-to-day staff communication.
- To be prepared to undergo any appropriate training.
- To undertake any other relevant duties as are considered appropriate to the post.
